This is a photo of me confused about which end of a fork to put in my mouth. But I actually have something else to say. I wasn't going to but I think it's actually super important to share especially given that it's a Saturday night and I can't get it off my mind.
Last night at about 2am I was having trouble with my Uber app. I called a friend and asked them to book me a ride home on their phone from their end and sent them my address.
I was sitting on my own on an empty street waiting and a car drove past, did a u-turn and came back. He pulled over infront of me, told me to get in and said he was my ride.
I didn't see any phone on his dash etc. so I asked him what the name for the booking was and he said HIS name was Mark, turned off the motor and asked me again to get in more forcefully and impatiently. Because of the timing and the situation (ride being booked from another phone) I was very close to getting in that car - but it wasn't my Uber!
I knew something wasn't right and luckily I was able to walk away (my actual car was waiting around the corner as well so got home safe and was in bed snacking and watching cartoons within half an hour hahaha). But everyone please tell your friends and make sure you use the safety precautions there on rideshare apps. I never really thought this thing ACTUALLY happened but who knows what would have happened if I'd gotten in that car. ....Also, don't sit on the side of the road on your own staring at your phone and clearly looking around for a car in the dead of night like I did. I have to take some responsibility there 😂
Just be careful, idiots!! Hopefully someone reading this takes that little bit more care next time and hopefully these kind of situations can be avoided if we just speak up about them!
