Out of curiosity, how long have you guys been into photography? And if you don’t mind, I'd also be curious to learn how you got into photography and what you love most about it?
As for me, my wife bought me my first DSLR camera earlier this year (technically last year now I suppose) and I started doing actual photography trips in August. The first few months were spent learning how to take pictures and reviewing images shot from this time period is kind of like reviewing a comedy of errors. I'd like to think I've improved over time though, and it is only fairly recently that I feel as if I've gotten a slight handle on things (if that ever truly happens, that is).
This particular composition was found on a short hike near one of my favorite pair of waterfalls. The color tones of the trees and grass were the first thing that grabbed my attention, but I also really loved the tree in the foreground and how it was casting a reflection in the still waters of the creek. It is a busy composition, however I think there is enough separation for it to work. I'm fully aware these aren't the type of images that tend to do well on IG but they are my absolute favorite to shoot with so many places the eyes can explore. What do you guys think?
