Hi everyone! I’m Ayla ( @aimadventures ), a New Zealand-based photographer who you’ll find mostly under the night sky chasing the milky way, climbing mountains, capturing sunsets and sunrises or chasing waterfalls. I started getting into photography back in 2016. To me, photography is a way to immortalise a special moment, to remember a story behind every photo captured. I'm also celebrating my birthday today and I'm truly humbled to take over @universetoday and share with you a few of my most memorable photos! 🎉 You can check out more of my landscape and astro photos on @aimadventures. 💖
This photo was taken in Te Arai beach, New Zealand in autumn last year. 🍂 During this time in NZ, the milky way rises in the east and Te Arai beach is one of the most well-known East Coast beaches for astrophotography that is only a 2-hr drive from Auckland City. New Zealand is known to be one of the best places in the world for stargazers with clear skies, minimal light pollution, and by being in the Southern Hemisphere. It’s incredible how the galaxy can be so close to us yet so far. It is so massive and I believe we should consider ourselves not lucky, but blessed to be able to witness the beauty of this universe made by an even more beautiful Creator.
