WA DAY 3: We had the most zen day wrapping up some of the stuff we wanted to do at Olympic.
First, we headed over to Sol Duc & hiked to Marymere Falls. Sun rays + rainbow + waterfalls = magical.
Then we went over to do some kayaking on Lake Crescent. This glacier-carved beauty is a whooping 624 feet deep & it’s the most incredible blue green color. The wind was cranking this day & we were told to stay away from the middle if we wanted to make it back to shore. Me being me, I wanted to see how far we could push it. We battled the wind on the way back, got drenched, & laughed like a little kid ... a feeling I didn’t know I missed so much until I felt it.
We wrapped up the day with a hike to Sol Duc Falls. Second rainbow of the day 🌈
If you’re interested in taking the same route, I would totally add Mount Storm King to your list! The trailhead begins right at Lake Crescent & the view is phenomenal from what I’ve seen. Wish we had had time to do it!
From Sol Duc, we headed down to Yelm for the night so we could head to Mount Rainier the following morning. (We stayed in an awesome cabin - Check out Owl’s Nest on Air BnB if you’re looking for a spot to stay for Rainier adventures. Beautiful cabin, fully stocked accommodations, & v sweet host!)
