Faking it at the Kenton street fair before the shop was open, 3 years ago. I had no merchandise so I threw together a display of random pottery, my own jewelry (I think @betsyandiya who I knew I’d be selling), some air plants, and a few vintage items. My husband held my shaking hand as this was my first day in public, announcing the shop- giving out postcards, pointing hopefully to the run down space behind me (off to the right, not shown here), and giving out my porcelain discount tokens that I made at my dining table. We both look like babies here and when I look back at this I think of how little I knew about what I was doing. Thank you, Kenton Neighborhood, for supporting me even when Mantel was just a twinkle in my eye. And thank you to my husband who continues to be the kindest and wisest person I’ve ever met and still fills my heart daily. (Our 15 year anniversary is this week!) Kenton, you really are the best little neighborhood around and we can’t wait for today’s 10 year anniversary Street Fair! (FYI, we are opening an hour early and closing an hour late!) Thank you to @kentonbusinesspdx for working so hard on this.
