It’s the final weekend of Sydney Lunar Festival! There’s lots on this weekend including the annual Dragon Boat Races, lion dancing down at Circular Quay alongside the Lunar Lanterns, the pop-up beach by Surf Lifesaving NSW ( @slnsw ) and the final Lunar Spectacular Show at First Fleet Park. Find out more info via the link in our bio.
Here are some of our favourite pics from #SydLunar so far.
️⃣ @itislikeiamsleepwalking made a visit to the Tiger Lantern. If you were wondering, the sign on the 🐯's forehead spells 'King' 🤴.
️⃣ Glanzpunkt took this incredible photo of the @sydneyoperahouse lit red for prosperity and fireworks 🎇🎉
️⃣ “Happy Year of the Pig” from @innerwestgold. The very popular Spiral Pig Lantern returns for another year. It’s near the Overseas Passenger Terminal 🐷.
️⃣ “Lanterns and colours”. Beautiful photo by @jflesdeux of the spectacular curtain of Chinese lanterns suspended over Dixon Street in the heart of Chinatown. In auspicious colours of red and gold (and pink for Year of the Pig!), they are up until 19 February.
️⃣ 6 playful rabbits 🐰 practice tai chi 📷 by @ellejak.
️⃣ @gustavo_eulalio captured the Horse 🐴 Lantern with horses in full stride!
️⃣ @mathild_18 got close to the playful Monkey Tower by @louise__zhang. The peach on top represents long life or immortality in Chinese culture 🙈🙉🙊
️⃣ Pamela Lee’s new Sheep 🐏 Lantern design reflects the tradition of papercut design. 📷 @katherinegriffiths
️⃣ @nycantipodean caught one of the Rooster 🐓 Lanterns about to eat a lamp post! 🔟 Artist Song Ling designed the Dog 🐶 Lantern as a tribute to his own family pup. 📷 @_danieltran_.
